Multiple visits, each lasting up to 30 days, are allowed during the validity period of the visa with no need for a separate visa application for each visit. This is ideal if you anticipate travelling to and from Singapore frequently - whether to explore business opportunities or to attend to your business and investments. General visit visas For exploring business activities This pass enables you to stay in Singapore for 6 months, to explore business opportunities, conduct feasibility studies or complete negotiations. Highly convenient, the pass allows you to leave and re-enter Singapore within the validity period without having to reapply each time. Go to Top PROFESSIONAL VISIT PASS Professional Visas These visas are issued to foreign professionals who have found employment in Singapore and are about to commence work; those who need to make short visits in their professional capacities; and others who seek training opportunities. Professional Visit Pass (PVP) Foreigners need a Professional Visit Pass (PVP) to undertake short-term professional assignments in Singapore. As part of Singapore's effort to be a centre for business and culture, only the following groups of foreigners entering Singapore for short-term assignments require a PVP: - Foreigner who is a speaker, organiser, workshop leader/moderator at conferences, seminars, workshops or gathering of a racial, communal, religious, cause-related (e.g. human rights) or political nature;
- Foreign religious worker coming to Singapore to give religious or other religion-related talks;
- Foreign journalist, reporter or an accompanying crew member, not supported/sponsored by any Singapore Government agency, to cover an event or write a story in Singapore;
- Foreign artiste performing at night-clubs, lounges, pubs and other similar entertainment outlets in Singapore.
Training Visit Pass The Training Visit Pass is for those who are undergoing training in Singapore. To apply for a Training Visit Pass, you should hold an acceptable degree / professional qualifications or should currently be an undergraduate of a University/tertiary institution or should be able to secure a minimum basic monthly stipend of more than S$2,500. The internship must be of a professional, managerial, executive or specialist nature Go to Top SINGAPORE EMPLOYMENT PASS Foreign entrepreneurs who wish to establish their company and reside in Singapore have two options to choose from: Employment pass and EntrePass. Each one has its own advantage in terms of ease of approval, processing period and mandatory requirements. - Foreign Entrepreneurs can also apply for Entrepass Visa, Singapore version of Entrepreneurs visa.
Foreign Entrepreneurs, professionals, managing directors and shareholders of Singaporean companies who wish to work in Singapore may apply for an Employment Pass. Singapore Immigration allows foreigners to apply for an Employment Pass after they have incorporated their Singapore Company, to enable them to live and work in Singapore. The Singapore Employment Pass comes with a valid stay visa for up to two years. The application can be submitted on-line and due to this the outcome of the application from the Ministry of Manpower is obtained within a shorter period of time and the probability for approval is higher than an EntrePass application. Employment pass applicants are assessed based on their education level, age, declared income and company position. Comparison: Singapore Entrepass versus Singapore Employment Pass Employment Pass types P Pass/Q Pass There are three categories of Employment Pass: P1, P2 and Q Pass. The P Pass is for foreigners seeking professional, managerial or executive and specialist jobs. - P1 Pass – for applicants earning a fixed monthly salary of more than $7,000.
- P2 Pass – for applicants earning a fixed monthly salary of more than $3,500 and up to $7,000 and he/she possesses recognised qualifications.
- Q Pass – for applicants earning a fixed monthly salary of more than $2,500 and possessing recognised qualifications, degrees, experience or specialist skills.

If your basic monthly salary is below $2,500 but you have an acceptable university degree or diploma from a recognised educational institution in Singapore, you may also apply for the Employment Pass. All Employment Pass holder may apply for Dependant's Passes for a spouse and unmarried children under 21 years old. If you are a foreigner and would like to work in Singapore, you: - Have to first secure a job offer in Singapore;
- Once you have a job offer, you need to apply for an Employment Pass;
- Only upon approval of the employment pass you can start employment in Singapore.
The problem faced by most potential applicants are that many Singapore based companies are reluctant to offers foreigners a job unless they have secured their employment pass, because many companies just don’t want to go thru the application hassle. To address this problem for employers and employees, the Singapore government has introduced “EPEC” employment pass eligibility certificate. This certificate from Singapore government entitles you to stay in Singapore and find a job for the following two reasons: - You will be issued a 6-12 months visa to stay in Singapore and look for a job.

They should also hold an Employment Pass (P or Q Pass). Applicants must be below 50 years of age. The spouse and unmarried children (below 21 years of age) of a PR may also apply for PR status. Applicants under this scheme will be assessed by a Points System, which takes into account the type of employment pass, duration of stay in Singapore, academic qualifications, basic monthly salary, age, kinship ties in Singapore. Scheme for Investors Foreigners interested in starting up a business or wishing to invest in Singapore, may apply for Permanent Residence (PR) status for themselves and their immediate family (spouse and unmarried children 21 years of age and below) under the Investor Scheme, by choosing one of the following options Invest at least S$1 million in a new business startup or expansion of an existing business operation or - Invest at least $1.5 million in a new business startup, expansion of an existing operation, approved Singapore-incorporated venture capital fund or Singapore-incorporated foundation or trust that focuses on economic development or
- Invest at least $2 million in a new business startup, expansion of an existing operation, approved Singapore-incorporated venture capital fund or Singapore-incorporated foundation or trust that focuses on economic Rdevelopment. Residential property can be purchased with not more than 50% of the investment amount
- Under this scheme the entrepreneurial track record, the business or investment plan and the skills will be considered for granting PR.
Landed Permanent Residence Those who have acceptable professional or tertiary qualifications, are working in professional, managerial or specialist jobs and are interested in relocating to Singapore but are currently not working in Singapore can apply for Landed Permanent Residence. A LPR is valid for up to 2 years within which the holder must find a suitable employment or relocate their families to Singapore. PR will be granted once employment is secured or the family has relocated to Singapore. Foreign artistic talents in art, photography, dance, music, theatre, literature and film may apply for Singapore Permanent Resident Status under Foreign Artistic Talent Scheme. This Scheme is jointly administered by the Singapore Immigration and the National Arts Council (NAC). Eligible foreign talents should have received formal training and /or have relevant working experience and have already established a reputation both at home and abroad. Applicants have to send a application along with resume and relevant testimonials to NAC which on perusal will send a PR application form deserving candidates. On receiving the completed form NAC will recommend the applicant to the Singapore Immigration for its decision. The following categories of foreigners are also eligible to apply: - Spouse and unmarried children (below 21 years old) of a Singapore Citizen (SC)/Permanent Resident (SPR);
- Aged parents of a Singapore Citizen;
Approved-in-Principle (AIP) PR Scheme This scheme provides a 5-year approval-in-principle PR to successful Hong Kong applicants. Holders can obtain Permanent Residence status if they secure employment or relocate their family to Singapore within the 5 years validity period.
